[535] Have your ever seen a cat’s navel?

Smokey Joe was sleeping (in one of his favorite poses) and had no idea about the questions which swirled in my head.

Where is a cat’s navel?
What does it look like?
Why I haven’t seen it before? (Is it because I’m really unobservant or there is any secret?)

[532] 31/05/2014 Kakopetria

Today I will show some photos from our trip to Kakopetria. It is the one of my favorite villages in Cyprus. It looks so magic and quiet!

It is a kind of tradition to make a photo of the river. I cannot resist, it is so beautiful!

Old street and curious cat)

[531] Summer rain. Sky.

This summer should be unusual! It has started from the rain) Summer rain is very extraordinary situation for Cyprus. Usually, it is already hot in the end of May, however today I had to wear jacket, because the wind was really cold. Weather forecasts says that there will be another rainy day in the end of this week. Wow! It is amazing)

There are some pictures of today’s sky:

[530] Elections!

Today is the day of Presidential elections in Ukraine. My father and I came to Nicosia to the Embassy of Ukraine for voting. The day before I’ve read a lot of information about the candidates in order to make a final decision. However, I will not write any names here.

There were a lot of people near the Embassy. Many of them had Ukrainian flags, t-shirts with national symbolics etc. Activists distributed blue and yellow ribbons, so I took one:)

No matter who will become the President, I hope for the best for our country.

[529] Evening shower

“Hey, mom, I’m ready for the evening shower! However, can we do this without water?”

Yesterday I found Smokey sitting is the corner of the bath. He looked so cute and serious:) Ok, he is always cute)

[527] F1 (not a button))

For many years my dream was to find someone who is interested in Formula 1 as much as I am. Almost one year ago we have watched one of the Grand Prix together with my husband and he liked it! What’s more we are the fans of the same pilot. I’m so happy! Yuhoo) Oh, how I love my husband:) It is always great to have similar interests with the spouse.

Few days ago Alex came up with cool idea to watch old F1 races. We decided to start from the season 1985. History was never interesting for me, however the possibility to trace how my favorite type of car-racing has changed during almost 30 years seemed entertaining. Unfortunately, some of these changes were not for the better.

In 80’s Formula-1 was more passionate and unpredictable. There were exciting duels and risky overtaking, regulations were not so strict and cars were more diverse. F1 was noticeably dangerous. Of course it is good that new rules make the racing safer, however the process of piloting became more “robotic”. Everything depends on computers, which decrease the human factor. It seems that in 2035 we will see F1 cars with autopilots instead of drivers and teams:):(

I wonder, what had those pilots done if (by some magic) in 1985 they would have seen the 2014 race?

[526] Never again

Every year these days we recall the events of the World War II. It was the deadliest and most terrible military conflict in human history. The total number of people killed is still unknown. According to wikipedia It is about 60 to 85 million. Some of the murdered haven’t been found and buried.

We and subsequent generations should remember this sad page in the history and make everything possible to this to never happen again. A war is always a tragedy and thousands of broken lives.

Eternal glory to the heroes who defended their homelands.

[525] Finn and social networks

Few weeks has passed since I decided to limit the use of the social network – vkontakte. I have registered there in 2008 and until this year it was one of my favorite and mostly visited sites. Unfortunately now it reminds me some kind of a freak show. May be I became older or people have changed. Anyway it began sicken and I quit. As it turned out, the idea was really good. I didn’t even realize how much time I have spent for pointless browsing numerous news and photos. There were hours which could be devoted to something more interesting and useful. No more active social networking!
My favorites now are Instagram and Twitter. When there is any interesting idea in my mind I can write a tweet or send a picture to Instagram. It doesn’t swallow me up for hours.
Regarding my vkontakte page, once in couple of days I log in there to send a birthday card and answer messages. No more time to lose) There are so much things I want to learn and to do.
